Frankie started Kindergarten at Aces today. He actually was there over the summer (for the month of July), so he already met his teacher, had his first of many "bus" ride (minivan). Therefore, he adapted pretty well going back after having a month off. His teacher let me know that he was a little fidgety, but after a little while, he warmed up and was giving out hugs to all of the teachers... such a schmoocher.
I'm trying to review things in my head as to what I have or haven't updated over the past few months. I know I wrote a little about our visit to Duke, and truly, that's what it was... there wasn't much to say, other than he did really well with all of his testings. We're still waiting on the GAGS results (enzyme count), but I'm thinking that we shouldn't hear anything but good news on that.
So, all day yesterday, after his first day back, he was saying "up" for hours... he would get on my bed and say "up" and raise his hands and say it, too... so it was appropriate... but, he was also saying it at random times, and I think it was just a fun word for him to say... a fun noise or something like that. It was just really cute to hear a new sound out of him.
And, as a little treat, I took him to our local supermarket and let him walk around (as opposed to having him in a carriage). He knows the store pretty well, so it was no surprise to me when he bee-lined it right for the DVDs... he picked one out (Barney, now I know my ABCs) and didn't let go of it the entire time we were in the store. He was absolutely adorable at check-out. He didn't want to let go of the DVD, but he didn't cry when I took it. The cashier gave it back to me and he just stood there, waiting for me to pay, DVD in hand... very cute... very patient. It was just a darn sweet moment with my little man.
And, for those of you who don't have facebook (yes, I'm on there and I post sometimes about Frankie), here's a photo of Frankie going to school on his first day yesterday.
